So lately I have been trying to get acquainted with my self on how things work as an Affliction Warlock. Changes, and lots of them, have come around and sort of changed how everything works now.
Corruption is now instant cast, the new top tier talent is a Direct Damage AND a heal, and over all the components of Affliction are so awesome I don’t know why everyone is off running to the Death Knight (FotM for sure!).
So I am get back into the swing of things and trying to get the handle of using the Felhunter over the Imp as a pet ( still running my own tests on that). Trying to figure out the whole stats now that Spirit is somewhat useful for us, and just getting down to business as usual.
I think the biggest hold up is the jump in required experience for levels. I have lost count of the number of quests I have down around Howling Fjord, but I am still not 71 yet. Maybe tonight I can step out of that Burning Crusade level cap and into the Northrend leveling curve…

Can we get some Affliction loving?
Wait, what?
We Did?
Beta?
Oh hell yes!
That’s right you Warlock, evil loving, purveyors of mass sustained situational DPS, Affliction Warlocks officially kick some butt in Beta.
Been in the PTR myself to work on the talents and the meshing of all those Dots, Direct Damage and Draining death dealing spells we have. I have seen the dark side and it is filled with you evil bastards! Get ready, our time to shine is coming and it will be glorious!
I’ll have a more complete coverage of what I am going on about after a few trips this weekend through a few dozen creatures and share my joy with you all.

I am not worried about progression or any of the sorts at the moment. I run 2 weekly raids with the guild and those are Kara fun runs. I am not actively trying to hoard gear for the coming Xpac. I am not out farming mats for my Death Knight alt (Lichenstien!), although I might at another time. I am currently relaxing and waiting.
There is no need to rush to do things. I am almost leveled out in my secondary professions (fishing/cooking) and just trying to take it slowly and enjoy the calm right now. I am trying out things on the PTR though, and Affliction is a very fun build but I need to do more to test Haunt out.
I am looking forward to trying the Metamorphosis spell out later this week. I liked Demonology while I was specced that way and wouldn’t mind seeing how it has changed. So nothing new going on, just relaxing and enjoying my time.

Or should I say it is about time. I finally got my professions maxed. Both Alchemy and Herbalism have been maxed to 375. One of my goals have been met and now it is time to move onto the others.
I am still working on Alchemy though as I need to finish my Elixer quest (just need the Black Morass runs) and then working towards some shiny Alchemy specific trinkets. I need the Sha’tar rep and the Sunwell rep but neither of them should take me long to get hopefully.
I started on my Cooking and Fishing too to try and get them maxed somewhat soon. After that I just have to farm dailies to gather up some gold, and maybe get an epic flyer before Wrath comes out. Would be nice but not too worried about that at the moment, just the others.
So far life has been good after my transfer to Cairne. I got into my old Shaman’s guild again, got to raid in Kara some and just having a decent time. I can not complain and finally feel like I am in a good, fun place in this game once again.

So I went back to Affliction last night. I finally got tired of controlling that Felguard. It felts like I spent more time doing things for him than doing that evil Warlock stuff I liked so much, so a change was in order. Now, don’t get me wrong, Demonology is very fun, but I got to do what is fun for me, and that has been Affliction.
I screwed up the respec though, and got some crazy spec that I think I’ll have to fix later. It served its purpose though as I got to go into Karahzan again last night after a long time away. Made it all the way up to Opera before we had and real issues (DC’d tank) so it stopped there. I did pick uo the Bands of Nefarious Deeds though off Maiden and some Badges, so it was a good night for all.
Was a fun run and look to really get back into the swing of things with the guild now that I am getting a good set schedule of play time now. Now just to see if I can fix the addons to look better.

So I finally got around to leveling Alchemy and Herbalism up. Didn’t really take me long as everyone has left the lower level areas and are sitting in Outlands. So in 2 days time I have gone up to 330 in Alchemy and 350 in Herbalism.
At the moment I am trying to get my Master of Elixirs quest done. I thought about Transmute Master but it doesn’t hold anything of value for me, Master of Potions as well but I like the Elixirs as I can buff my self up for the time I am playing and go from there.
I thought I was going to have trouble with the Ancient Lichen part of the quest, but I got one off the first Starving Bog Lord I skinned last night, so it might not be so bad. I just expect to get some rep with Sporegar before I am finished, as I expect a long time in that area. Oh well. Just one step closer to having that “Mad Scientist” thing going on with Poxus.
